[caret-users] problem with flattening - last step

Hello,

I have been baving problem with the last step of surface flattening; flat_cycle5_overlap_smooth.coord is not created (flat_cycle5.coord is there). I'm following the manual ("Caret5 Tutorial Segmentation and Flattening version 5.2, April 2005") to do all steps from "Surface Flattening" to "Aligning the Surfaces to Standard Orientation", and often encounter this problem. For now, I'm going back to the very beginning to redo all, and it seems to work on the second round.  

1. What would be the cause of this problem (not creating flat_cycle5_overlap_smooth.coord)?
2. Is it possible to create flat_cycle5_overlap_smooth.coord from flat_cycle5.coord without going back all the way to the first step? 
3. Is there a new manual that covers this section?
