[caret-users] problem with flattening - last step

Hi Akiko,
You are actually not running into a problem at all. The
flat_cycle5_overlap_smooth is not always created if the surface doesn't
need that extra little attention at the end. If CARET is happy with the
surface that is created by flat_cycle5 then it will stop processing at
that point. A flat_cycle5_overlap_smooth.coord will be generated if
there is a section on the flat surface that is overlapped (for example)
on another. So it will massage the surface until the overlap is no
longer present. So sorry for the confusion. You can continue with the
rest of the flattening steps using the flat_cycle5 surface.

I'm following the manual ("Caret5 Tutorial Segmentation and Flattening version 5.2, April 2005") to do all steps from "Surface Flattening" to "Aligning the Surfaces to Standard Orientation", and often encounter this problem. For now, I'm going back to the very beginning to redo all, and it seems to work on the second round.
