If you truly have generated depth, as you indicated in an earlier
message, you can use it to effectively select STS (via aseg) AND depth
=<-5.0 (or whatever depth you specify -- play around with it). This
would ensure that gyral nodes are excluded.
You can do the selections in separate commands, feeding the output ROI
of the first as input to the second. I think you can do an AND in a
single command, but the usage gets more cumbersome.
