[caret-users] missing instructions

This page might be helpful, albeit somewhat outdated (July 2005 vintage):

It is more concerned with registration, but it appears you get a flat 
map for free. I didn't scrutinize it to see how out of sync with the GUI 
it is.

David and I were talking about partial hemisphere registration recently, 
and he mentioned he had some nuggets on the subject.
