Data File Auto Loader Dialog

This dialog controls the auto loading of data files. There is no limit to the number of auto loaders that may be used at any one time.


  • Add - Press this button to add a new auto loader. The first dialog that pops up is used to select the type of auto loader. The next dialog sets the parameters for the autoloader.
  • Edit - Select one auto loader in this dialog and the press this button to edit the auto loaders parameters.
  • Remove - Select one or more auto loaders in this dialog and press this button to remove them.

Auto Loader File Naming

The files for autoloading must be in the form <anything>_I_J_K.<extension> where the extension is ".metric" or ".func.gii" for metric files and ".nii" or ".nii.gz" for functional volume files.

GIFTI Archive (GAR) Files

The files for autoloading must be in a GIFTI Archive (GAR) FIle.

To create a GIFTI Archive File, run the command "jar cf <gar-file-name> <data-files-and-or-directory>". The files may be in the current directory or a subdirectory.

Functional Volume and Metric Auto Loader

  • Structure - Choose the structure (typically right or left cerebral hemisphere) for auto loading.
  • Display Surface - Choose the surface on which the auto loaded data is displayed. This does not function at this time.
  • Intersection Surface - When a node is identified, use this surface to determine the voxel indices.
  • Anatomy Volume - This volume is used to determine the voxel indices for autoloading.
  • Gifti Archive File - Pressing this button displays a file selection dialog for selecting the GIFTI Archive (GAR) File.
  • Enable - Press this button after setting the parameters to set up the auto loader. The contents of the GAR file are analyzed and this operation may take several seconds or more.
  • Disable - Press this button to disable the auto loader.
