Scene Generic Editor

  • Name - Name for the scene
  • Description - A description of the scene.

Windows Tab

Sets contents of window (surfaces, volumes) when the scene is displayed.

  • Allow Scene to Change Window Contents - If checked, the scene will update the contents of Caret's Main and Viewing Windows using the parameters set on this page. If this is not checked, displaying the scene will have no effect on the contents of Caret's Main and Viewing Windows.

For a surface it is not necessary to specify the name of the surface. One needs to specify the structure, type of surface, and the desired view. If desired, all or part of the surface's name may be entered to distinguish between multiple surfaces that are the same structure and surface type.

Surface Overlay Tab

Sets the surface overlays when the scene is displayed.

  • Allow Scene to Change Surface Overlays - If checked, the scene will update the surface overlays using the parameters on this page. If this is not checked, displaying the scene will have no effect on the surface overlays.


  • Data Type - Type of overlay.
  • Matching - Contains results in the display of ALL data column that contain the Data Column text. Exact displays the FIRST data column that matches Data Column text. In both cases of matching, the matching is case insensitive.
  • Data Column - Full (Exact matching) or partial (Contains matching) name of the data column.
